I enlarged my nation printout to about the dimensions I needed, but ended up tracing it a bit larger to suit the piece higher. Then, I simply painted outside the nation in undeniable white latex paint. I drilled my holes in the pinnacle plank before portray. while the paint become dry, I sanded the edges and gently over the paint with my sander to show a number of the wooden. I wiped all of the dirt off then put a coat of stain over each piece, wiping it off the paint as a good deal as I could. i like this approach (observed it atThrifty & elegant) and it’s so smooth to do!

to boost it, I added a couple 12″ poplar battens to the lower back with little screws simply to be secure.

in preference to completely attaching the frame, I used a nail in order that they may take it off without difficulty to insert photos and also could alternate out the body as they preferred. I strung some rope thru the holes and knotted it, then it become ready to dangle!

that is so creative! thanks a lot for sharing w/ Monday Funday~ xo

i love this! it might be a remarkable gift for a navy own family, too. ;)

That’s a first-rate idea Jessica, it'd!!
